About me:

Mia Binsfeld is currently attending Minneapolis College of Art and Design, where she studies Comic Arts and Painting. She works mainly with digital art and oil painting, developing a practice that explores her self-identity and life experience through the visual metaphor of an egg. Binsfeld focuses on how growing up Asian American and disabled has shaped her identity and upbringing. inviting viewers to consider how identity is shaped by both internal experience and external perception. . Binsfeld has published a book called "Skipper finds home" And hopes to make it a first of many!

Skipper Finds Home reveals the importance of native plants within our ecosystems and also raises awareness about the endangered Dakota skipper butterfly and its habitat. Perfect for bedtime or classroom reading, Skipper's story will foster curiosity and a deep appreciation for nature-based learning. Most of the native plants featured in the book are keystone species, which means they play a crucial role in conservation efforts.
